Russia issues a unified electronic visa (eVisa) to citizens of around 55 eligible countries, for short tourist, business or guest visits. It is applied for entirely online and permits a single-entry stay of up to 16 days. This guide covers eligibility, the official fee, and how the portal works.

Who is eligible

The unified eVisa is open to citizens of a defined list of roughly 55 countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. It covers tourism, business, humanitarian and guest visits — but not employment, study or journalism, which need a regular visa. Confirm your nationality is on the current list before applying.

How to apply

  1. Open the official Russian unified eVisa portal.
  2. Complete the application at least four days before travel, uploading your photo.
  3. Pay the government fee of about US$52 online.
  4. Receive the eVisa notification by email once approved.
  5. Print the eVisa and enter through an approved air, land or sea checkpoint.

Entry points

The unified eVisa is accepted at a published list of air, sea, road and pedestrian checkpoints — including major airports in Moscow and St Petersburg. Not every border crossing is included, so verify your intended checkpoint on the official portal before you travel.
